Hydrant Flushing – Downtown, Ryal Side and Beverly Farms areas

The City of Beverly will be flushing hydrants starting Tuesday, June 3 between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.  The Water Department will begin in the Downtown, Ryalside and Beverly Farms areas and continue for several weeks throughout the City.   Hydrant flushing will occur on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.    Discoloration

Obituary: Richard Sears Humphrey

Humphrey, Richard Sears, Jr. Of Beverly Farms, passed away at home on July 14th. He was 88. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Richard S. and Marion (Emmons) Humphrey. Mr. Humphrey graduated from Harvard University in 1947 and began his advertising career in New York. He then founded his own agency Humphrey, Brown, McDougall. He is survived by his wife Linda (Stroh) Humphrey; his son Richard S. Humphrey, III; his five daughters: Joan Rybczynski, Katherine Drew, Brooks Williams, Diana Johnson and Wendy Ruppenthal and ten grandchildren. His sisters are Marion Milton and the late Joan Shoemaker. A memorial service will be held at the Myopia Hunt Club, 435 Bay Road, Hamilton on August 23rd at 11AM. ...

Obituary: Arthur Coner

CONER, Arthur "Bird" Of Quincy, formerly of Beverly, died Friday, June 27th at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. Arthur was born in Dorchester, graduated from Boston Technical High School and Salem State College. He was a decorated Vietnam veteran and received a Purple Heart among many other commendations. Arthur worked in the automobile industry at Davy Chevrolet, Means Chevrolet, and Thomas Ford. Son of the late Richard and Laura Coner.
