Remembering Veterans

Sgt. Dan Clark made his annual appearance at the Paul Revere School on Friday, Nov. 7, for the Veteran Day Program at the school. The annual program includes many of the students and has become very well attended by City and state officials. Show here (inset) is fifth-grader Alex Diaz waving his American flag during ‘America the Beautiful.’ Diaz was also chosen to recite a poem devoted to how veterans love their country.

ARRESTED ON SUNDAY Revere Police arrested a Vera Street man after he horrified a young teenager near the First Congregational Church on Sunday afternoon. Around 3 p.m., the man and about four others with him honed in on the 14-year-old victim and began yelling at him that this was “their turf” and that he had a gun. The man – who goes about 6’4” and 300 pounds – began to act as if he was going to pull a gun out from behind his back, further scaring the young man. Al Blasi Was a Terrific Baseball Coach and A Great Person

Al Blasi was synonymous with Revere High School baseball for more than four decades. He helped student-athletes learn all aspects of the game – hitting, fielding, pitching, bunting, and running the bases. He was as an expert in baseball, a master of the fundamentals who knew how to teach the game and make it fun. So many Revere baseball players looked at him with reverence, admiring how someone could bring a love of the game to practice each day whether it was in pre-season in March or the final week of the season in late May.
